VILLA AMELIA

Our love of Kefalonia began 28 years ago as a very young, then unmarried couple. We landed in Athens with no plan as was the fashion back then! We decided to board the next domestic flight wherever it led us and to follow its path with enthusiasm. This led us to Kefalonia. We had a superb holiday, fell in love with the place and its people and vowed that we would return again if we had a family.

We did, and have been holidaying in Kefalonia with our children, almost continuously for the past fifteen years. It was always our dream to have a home on the Island and in August 2005, we viewed a new development in Metaxata with Adonis from Vinieris Real Estate. We returned home, and corresponded with Isobel and Adonis via email and phone. We made a decision, and returned to Kefalonia in November 2005 to sign a building contract for our new Villa in the sun.

Vinieris staff took us through all the logistics in acquiring our plot in Metaxata; this was a simple process, achieved within one working day. We were then introduced to Panagis and A.E.C. Developers, the builders on the project. This was like boarding the ‘Panagis Express Train.’ Within three days we were taken to view properties they had built and were escorted by Panagis to choose all the fabrics for the villa: tiles (interior and exterior), floor and walls, bathroom fittings, kitchen units, wall colours inside and out, windows and door types. In-depth decisions included such choices as light switches and ironmongery on doors. So many decisions in such a little time and all with the persuasive help of Panagis, in the nicest way possible, of course!

When we returned home, we were sent an endless amount of photographs via email relating to the progress of our Villa and were contacted immediately for any decisions on design issues.

We returned again the following Easter (April 2006). Our Villa had been completed, ahead of schedule. We had viewed many building projects on the Island over the years and the slow progress of some of them scared us. Consequently, we were both astonished and delighted with the expediency of the project. We were also extremely happy with all the finishes in the Villa. Indeed, some things were even taken further than anticipated.

Our experience has been nothing but positive. Long after our final payment, they were, and still are, available to attend to any issue we encounter, no matter how small.

We would like to thank Panagis, Andreas and all the rest of the team in A.E.C. Group. They are largely responsible us realise our dream in realise Villa Amelia in Metaxata.
